          Here you will find BookNotes on a marvellous book about Alexandr Solzhenitsyn. Few have heard of A.S., yet he is one of the most important figures of the twentieth century. He changed the world more than any politician, diplomat, or political activist; bringing about the Soviet Union. Why is he virtually unknown? Because he was a Xn (Russian Orthodox). The Western media and intellectual elites, not wanting it known that it was a servant of Jesus Christ, who had effected such an important political event, suppressed the truth to fit their philosophical (read: theological) liking.

          Solzhenitsyn was one of (at least) three Xns crucial in the collapse of Communism. A reformed pastor, László Tökés, in Timisoara, Romania; and a Lutheran pastor, Christian Fuehrer, in Leipzig, East Germany played corresponding roles in their countries. But consider this!: We have observed that Xns in Romania, Germany, and Russia were instrumental in the fall of European Communism. But what of Roman Catholics in Poland!? I know nothing of this history. Wiki-Help! Furthermore, we can at least suspicion and perhaps expect that in the maybe near future the Church in China will be instrumental in their great country. The Chinese Communist leadership knows what happened and fears the Xn Church more than any other element (and Tibetan Buddhism??). We have here the great and totally unrecognized ecumenical phenomena of the 20th and 21st centuries: Reformed, Lutheran, Orthodox, Roman Catholic, and (next?) Chinese Christians bring down the greatest and most evil political farce ever conceived.
